How many calories are in your Qdoba order?
Qdoba is built around choice — which is great for eating the way you want, and frustrating when you’re trying to count calories or hit a protein target. A printed nutrition chart only shows a handful of pre-set menu items, but almost nobody orders exactly those. This calculator solves that: pick your base, protein and every topping, and it adds up the real calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar and sodium of your order using Qdoba’s official 2025 nutrition data.
Qdoba calories by meal type
Here’s the same filling — grilled chicken, cilantro-lime rice, black beans, cheese and pico — served six ways. The only thing that changes is the base, which shows exactly what each format costs you:
| Meal type | Cal | Protein | Carbs | Fat | Sodium |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Burrito Bowl | 615 | 42g | 65g | 21.5g | 1310mg |
| Flour Burrito | 915 | 50g | 117g | 28.5g | 2070mg |
| Salad | 630 | 43g | 68g | 21.5g | 1320mg |
| 3 Soft Tacos | 825 | 48g | 101g | 26g | 1820mg |
| Quesadilla | 915 | 50g | 117g | 28.5g | 2070mg |
| Nachos | 1175 | 49g | 140g | 47.5g | 1530mg |
The takeaway: a bowl and a salad are the lightest bases, while the tortilla in a burrito adds around 300 calories and the fried chips under nachos add the most. Same fillings, very different totals.
Qdoba protein comparison
Every protein at a standard scoop, so you can pick for your goal. Chicken and shrimp are the leanest per calorie; steak is richer; Impossible and fajita veggies keep it plant-based:
| Protein | Cal | Protein | Carbs | Fat | Sodium |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grilled Chicken | 170 | 23g | 1g | 9g | 340mg |
| Grilled Steak | 260 | 15g | 3g | 21g | 290mg |
| Shredded Beef | 140 | 15g | 3g | 7g | 450mg |
| Pork (Carnitas) | 110 | 14g | 0g | 4.5g | 560mg |
| Impossible | 170 | 13g | 8g | 9g | 350mg |
| Citrus Shrimp | 80 | 14g | 0g | 2g | 1040mg |
| Fajita Veggies | 40 | 1g | 3g | 3g | 115mg |
Bowl vs burrito: which should you get?
If you’re watching calories or carbs, the bowl wins almost every time. The fillings are identical — the only difference is the tortilla, which adds roughly 300 calories, 52g of carbs and 760mg of sodium. Order a bowl, or ask for your burrito “in a bowl” with the tortilla on the side. If you love the wrap, you can still lighten it: choose a bowl-style filling and skip the rice or the cheese to buy back some of the tortilla’s cost.
The 4-swap rule for a lighter order
Four easy swaps, each saving 100–320 calories:
- Bowl instead of burrito — saves ~300 cal and 52g carbs.
- Skip queso & sour cream — saves ~130 cal and cuts sodium.
- Fresh salsas over creamy sauces — pico, verde and roja are only ~5–10 cal each.
- Single protein + extra beans — keeps protein high while trimming fat.
High-protein, keto & vegan at Qdoba
Double chicken or steak on a bowl with black beans clears 55g+ protein. Skip the tortilla to keep calories in check.
Bowl or salad, any protein, no rice/beans/tortilla. Load cheese, guac, sour cream and fresh salsas — often under 15g net carbs.
Impossible or fajita veggies with beans, rice, guac and salsas. Skip cheese, queso and sour cream to go fully vegan.
Watch the sodium
Sodium is the number most people miss at Qdoba. Tortillas, cheese, queso and some proteins each carry a few hundred milligrams, and a fully loaded burrito can pass 2,000mg — nearly a full day’s recommended limit in one meal. If you’re watching blood pressure, build a bowl, go light on queso and cheese, lean on fresh veggies and salsas, and keep an eye on the live sodium readout as you build.
Is Qdoba healthy?
It genuinely can be — because it’s customizable, the answer depends entirely on how you build it. A bowl with a lean protein, beans, fajita veggies, fresh salsas and a modest amount of cheese is a balanced, high-protein, high-fiber meal. The same order as a loaded burrito with queso, sour cream and a side of chips is a very different plate. The whole point of this tool is to make that difference visible before you order — so you can enjoy Qdoba and still hit your goals.
Frequently asked questions
A typical chicken burrito bowl — grilled chicken, cilantro-lime rice, black beans, cheese and pico — comes to roughly 640 calories with about 43g of protein. Swap in steak, add queso or guac, or double the protein and it climbs; skip the rice and cheese and it drops well under 500.
